Free Immigrant Kitchen Event March 5!
In collaboration with "Read Brave" by St. Paul Public Library: Argentinian cooks Paula Gutierrez & Nico Nicolov
Y’all.
It’s February 18, and it’s been the longest year ever, amirite?
A bit of salve:
Immigrant Kitchen is honored to be collaborating with the St. Paul Public Library’s Read Brave, an annual citywide book club that encourages the community to read the same young adult book and have bold conversations about issues that matter to Saint Paul.
This year’s book Lobizona is a young adult fantasy novel that follows the story of Manuela “Manu” Azul, an undocumented Argentinian immigrant in Miami living a life of careful invisibility designed to keep her and her family safe.
Immigrant Kitchen is thrilled to be repping Argentinian food and food stories with the help of our cooks Paula Gutierrez and Nico Nicolov, who will be presenting a traditional meal important to their home and culture of Buenos Aires.
The event will feature a panel discussion with the cooks, Romina Garber, author of Lobizona, as well as youth panelists.
Register here! Seats are limited.
We can’t wait to gather with you again.
Note: If you want to participate in the book club, pick up a free copy of Lobizona at any Saint Paul Public Library location. Books are available in both Spanish and English.
